The Story

Nuh (peace be upon him) is one of the greatest prophets and messengers of Allah. He preached to his people for 950 years, calling them to worship Allah alone and abandon their idols.

His people were the first to practice idol worship after Adam. They had created statues of righteous people who had passed away, and over generations, these statues became objects of worship.

Despite his tireless efforts, only a small number believed in him. His own wife and one of his sons rejected his message. The disbelievers mocked him constantly, especially when he began building the Ark far from any body of water.

Allah commanded Nuh to build the Ark and take aboard pairs of every animal species along with the believers. When the flood came, it covered the entire earth, destroying all the disbelievers. After the waters receded, Nuh and the believers started humanity anew.

Nuh is called one of the "Ulul Azm" (Prophets of Strong Will) and has an entire surah named after him.
